Panel discussion: IESE Business School, Barcelona - "Doing Good Doing Well" Conference

This was a panel discussion that I participated in on Sustainable Cities and Communities at the IESE Business School in Barcelona on behalf of Claro Partners. With the percentage of the world’s population living in in cities set to rise to 70% by 2030, huge pressure will be exerted on existing infrastructure at a time when cities are also facing financial challenges. Innovation and technology will be key to providing smart and practical solutions while optimizing the massive investment required for cities to adapt.

As part of a panel including the head of Uber, Spain I spoke about the tension on the one hand between providing smart, innovative solutions that meet the changing needs of the city, and on the other, how to balance this approach with a responsibility to the wider city-wide ecosystem. I also discussed the role of a human-centred design approach that meets the needs of fast changing urban environments
